They Showed Me the Secret Beaches reviewed in issue 30 of Arthur magazine by Thurston Moore and Byron Coley. Thanks to Numark for the tip-off.

Did you send the LP to the Wire and Arthur? I know that Byron will review some things sent to the Wire in Arthur. I'm gonna assume that it was Byron who reviewed it. Either way, congratulations.

Both.

Not sure how they divide the labour on those reviews but this one seems like a remarkably sober piece of writing for either of them. Apart from the part about "space bells", obviously.

I think that Byron usually reviews most of the literature in Bull Tongue and some of the music, and Thurston usually just reviews music. Thurston has more of a, for lack of a better term, "dude" vibe about his writing, while Byron can be a bit more academic but not by much. I have been reading Bull Tongue for years now (and Size Matters too) and it's so great every time I see a review of someone I know in those hallowed pages.

Byron's reviews in Size Matters are pretty Dude-centric, though, wouldn't you say?

I do agree but not by much
